I realize that Subaru has rally cars and that they have hood scoops; HOWEVER, in my humble opinion, only U.S. muscle cars should have them. I don't think there are any rally car races going on in New Jersey.
This just makes me say, "Huh?" It just doesn't look cool.

Yeah, I agree. That Subie is a rallye wannabe - and some of those rallye cars are fast.
I'd still rather see a hood scoop hiding some serious carbs or fuelly stacks. Whoof!
I was sitting there waiting to go in for my guitar lesson and this guy pulls up in this car and I busted up. It just struck me as funny. Appearance-wise, it was like seeing a hood scoop on a Neon.
Hood scoops on a street car make as much sense as those towel-racks you see on the back of some others. Often times they go together, which makes it even funnier. Totally useless.
If it was the WRX model then the scoop is there to mimic the rally cars style.
Looks a bit naff, but on twisty back roads those babies would leave your muscle cars (or our top end Aston Martins or Jaguars) trailing in their wake.
Skul
The scoops add to the "look" of a street car, but unless the car is decked out as a rally car...looks out of place.

My part of NJ is very flat and our traffic circles (roundabouts?) are about as twisty as it gets. We are slowly getting rid of those, too.
Muscle cars are so pretty, though. :)
Ya never know what's under the hood. My guess is there ain't much under this one.
My guess there isn't. It was some aging, hippie looking dude. ;P (Not that it doesn't mean he doesn't like fast cars.) I don't think this was a add-on, but a stock thing.
If I am not mistaken, that subaru has a fantastic 0-60 and can probably beat most sports cars on the road using only a 4 cylinder.
Still looks fagayzy. ;P'''' Saw one on the highway, today. Eh. Does nothing for me.
