Picture of the day: Lead me not into temptation.

I didn't really eat much yesterday (no appetite); however, I had an appetite from hell, today. That's never a good thing.

I managed to not eat any crap, but I did have one hurdle that proved full of temptation: the grocery store. I just kept telling myself to not go down aisles that might prove to be stronger than my willpower.

I soooooooo wanted Lay's KC Masterpiece Barbecue Chips. I almost bought a low-fat brand of chip, but I did read the label and that kept me from buying them. I'm not a sweets person, but I am a potato and chips person. Bad. Very bad.

As you can see from my picture, I was a good lass. I stayed in the produce section: English cucumbers, spaghetti squash, grapes, apples, mushrooms, and I also bought some milk.

I don't need the guilt that comes with giving in to those cravings. It's all because I'm tired and stressed. I just have to keep reminding myself of that little nugget.

You are winning the battle of the mind.

I never have good weeks when I get stressed or in a blue funk. During those weeks the weight just hangs on.

I've decided that since I'm around kids so much and there are a few with weight problems, that maybe I should look at this as a chance to be a role model, too. I never looked at my position as all that influential on the kids, but I'm realizing how much they do "look" at us.

I'm trying to learn my "triggers." Stress, feeling kind of blue, and not sleeping well all seem to make me want to eat crappy food. Friday-Sunday are especially hard, too--my routine is non-existent and I'm just trying to recover a bit from the week.

Mushrooms friggin' rule!

I was at Quizzo tonight, and drank a few pints of Guinness, but when the menus came around, I passed. For me, that was huge. Hopefully, I'll lose a few more lbs come Saturday.

I was reading an article the other day that highlighted the best beers to drink when you are trying to lose weight. One of the best for low-cal and low carb? GUINNESS! Good job on the passing up the yummy fried food. Hey, we know it's yummy, just out to kill you, though.

I haven't had an appetite today at all and on my diet I'm supposed to eat 5 small meals a day and I haven't done hardly anything today.

Yeah, I'm supposed to eat small meals throughout the day (according to a nutritionist that wanted to stuff me full of bread--idiot); however, I'm lucky I have 15 minutes to eat my lunch, let alone time throughout the day to eat.

Eat when you are hungry. Isn't that what doctors tell parents who are afraid their kids aren't eating enough? "They'll eat when they are hungry."

(Can you tell I'm just a little tired and hungry right now? HA!)

All day, today, all I wanted was french fries. ALL DAY! Ugh.

I did stop at Wendy's to pick up a couple of baked potatoes (plain) to go with dinner. Mom asked for a chocolate frosty....oh, the debate in my head. Finally, I just thought, "You really do not need this; you will not die without it."

:) I think I'll start a 12-step program. HA!
