If you could run a department of our government, what would it be and how would you run it? (improvements/hirings/firings, etc...)
I was going to ask, "If you could run the world, what would you do?" However, I didn't want to encourage FIAR's megolamania and Fmragtop's dogmatic behavior any further.

I'd like to run the welfare dept. I'd cut it in half, freeing up lots of workers for the positions left vacant by the illegal immigrants I deported. I would then take the left over millions and give the people in the military, police, firefighter, and school teachers a giant raise. Also I'd make a program where elderly people that had actually paid into the system their whole lives would have prescription coverage. Bacically , lazy people would be screwed...but thats just me...

Wreckse: I wouldn't mind a huge raise. Then maybe I could afford housing that doesn't include gang members.
My mom would thank you for the prescription coverage; afterall, she did pay into the "system" for about fifty years...could she have healthcare, too? She can't afford it right now.
