Sunday Song

Psalm 31:24
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

It's SPRING! Yeah, I know you know that little fact. Spring can mean a lot of things, symbolic things come to mind for me. The idea of rebirth, renewal, and the beauty of the world popping out in all its many colors. Many things in nature are experiencing a bit of life after being dormant.

Spring also brings with it hopefulness and renewed optimism for things to come. You can feel it. That hope and optimism isn't found in a man (or woman) that makes promises, though. Humans can't keep all of their promises.

Promises are kept by God. The optimism that comes with renewal and rebirth is given by Him. Only God can meet our expectations, not man (or woman).

To place our expectations, hopes, and optimism into someone's very human, flawed, hands would not be allowing the blessings that can only come from God. (I'm reminded of a line: "He's got the whole world in His hands.")

When we feel wiped out and let down from everything life has to offer, God is there to provide renewal and rebirth. Only God can give us what we need to change, to have hope, and to recharge.

All the earthly stuff? They are blessings (sometimes in disguise) from God, that He uses to show us His love--icing on the cake of salvation.

Nice reminders.

Now, go rock out to this song.

(THIS song by them is also really good.)

You're welcome.

I remember when my big complaint was that Christian music wasn't produced well enough and that they all sounded the same (high pitched and nasal).

They broke that mold, eh?
