It all adds up: Week 8

I lost five pounds this week.

Still doing mostly the same stuff. I'm eating a little more fish. I've noticed that restricting my meat intake is having a positive impact on my weight loss. I'm also trying to not eat red meat more than once a week.

Since my efforts are focused on changing how I eat long-term (lifestyle change), I've been trying to eat "new" foods that are supposed to be healthy. This week, I'm thinking of trying something called
quinoa .

It is a whole grain and complete protein that can be used to replace starches like potatoes, rice, and pasta (think it can be bought in pasta form). It can be used in a lot of ways, so I look forward to experimenting.

I think I'll go eat breakfast, now. I'm hungry.

Because, you know when you are ordering in a restaurant and trying to be "good," all you want is everything you aren't supposed to have.

It is all one, ginormous mind game.

I've been winning the battle, most days.
