RAIN

Have I mentioned that I like rain? I especially like cool, rainy days. I love the rhythm as it hits the roof and the gutter. I like the sound on the windshield and the swish of the windshield wipers.

There are lots of days when I need the warmth of the sun, but extended periods of rain never seem to bother me much. The rain feels comforting or cozy in a way. I wish I had a fireplace. Then, my rainy day would be even better. For now, I'll go curl up under my favorite blanket, turn off the noise, and listen to the rain. My best naps happen on rainy days.

I grew up on the Oregon Coast, and went to college, initially in Seattle. then Portland. I tell people I'm really a blond, but it rusted.

I'm in the mall hair 12-step program. I have to refrain from any hairspray or I'll get addicted, again. ;P

I'm looking for a new-do right now, actually. You know, the whole growing out thing and tired of the color. I might go redder, but I have resistant gray, so I might go lighter. Then I'd have an excuse for my sporadic wifftiness.

I have hardly any gray. Considering some of the flying I've done and that I'm a couple years shy of 50. THAT is amazing.

Even the hair is stubborn.

I go to an Aveda salon. . regularly. . it's worse than crack.

Trauma can cause gray, as can illness. That's how I got mine: my little Mazda broadsided at 50 mph by a F250 and undiagnosed (for at least 10 years) thyroid issues...yay.

Rain always makes me sleepy. Not a good day to do homework or any kind of paper work for me.
As for the hair thing...I went gray really early. I've been dying my hair since I was in my 20s. It sucks because I actually liked my natural hair color, and did't get to hold on to it for very long.

Yeah. Rain must really suck for your job, not to mention all the idiots who don't know how to drive in it.

I started bleaching my hair when I was 16 (highlights) and then I went totally blonde right after that until I as about 20. Then I died it slightly redder than it was (chestnutty/reddish/auburn/mousy brownness). Now, I don't have a choice. A few months after my car accident, I noticed a stark white hair in my widow's peak. AHHHHH! Grrrrrr!

It's been raining here all day and I've been out in it most of the day. Got my new registration, had lunch with a friend, got some work done at school, went to the store, and was thoroughly entertained by this song popping up on the radio. I hate umbrellas, too.
