Some goodies and a funny

I'm flat-out knackered. So, in lieu of trying to write anything, I thought I'd find a few stories to make you smile and to remind you that there are good people in this world. At the end, though, I've provided a look at the craziness we might witness in life, too.

For the good stuff, I have decided to focus on the older members of society:

Jack Lucas is a Medal of Honor recipient. He lied about his age to join the Marines and subjected himself to serious injury by shielding other Marines from grenades at Iwo Jima. He's not well, but the story that accompanies the information related to his illness is a reminder of the bravery seen in all generations of our military.

Don't mess with 71-year-old Korean War Vets. 'Nuff said.

Here is a story about a grandfather that saw a need his autistic grandson has and decided to find a way to meet that need. Awesome!

And while this isn't good news, it makes me appreciate my job. Personally, I would have had this guy in a headlock much quicker than these people did. Co-worker goes crazy: Stand there and watch or make sure he doesn't hurt someone? You be the judge. (He starts out lower third of the frame and in the center.)

I can't believe those folks just stood there slack jawed. Wait, yes I can. I basically work with a bunch of folks like that.

Good for the Korean War vets and Mr. LeSieur.

As for Mr. Lucas, he'll be in our thoughts and prayers.

Two words for those people in that office: lame-asses.

Good contrast to the bravery of action and great use of intellect shown in the other stories, eh?
