Sportscaster, Jim McKay has passed away. I can remember just about every weekend, as a child, hearing his voice while I watched Wide World of Sports. I loved listening to Jackie Stewart call races and watching Evel Knievel trying to jump, well, everything. I remember watching many fights, lots of ice skating, and skiing.
McKay called many important events as part of his tenure at ABC Sports, none more so than the Munich Olympics, when 11 Israeli athletes were murdered by terrorists.
Mr. McKay was also a veteran of WW II. Sadly, we are losing so many from that brave generation.
Rest in peace, sir.
