On the road

I always liked watching Charles Kuralt. I loved watching and listening to the human interest stories he'd present on his television shows. The stories made me fascinated with the world outside of New Jersey. It is pretty interesting how we can become so isolated by our surroundings. I am always amazed when I see the Shenandoah Valley and the beautiful mountains. I literally feel my soul relax. New Jersey is so Grrrrr, 24/7. Maybe it is the Delaware Valley; maybe it is the whole state. It will take me a week or so to shake it off, though.

Here's the view from my hotel room in Virginia. Hmm...guess I better keep the curtains closed.

Lamest bumper sticker of the day? "I stop for red lights." Thanks for the warning, Bub.

Oh, and the suicide pact among all juicy bugs everywhere is in full force. My windshield was the scene of many a bug suicide.

I wondered where the first part of the word verification went - it started with hy at any rate.

Travel this time of year is joy and a curse.

I don't really think you are type to leave the blinds open anyway.

HA!

There were some leaving red marks. That creeped me out a bit. And what is with the dragon fly on steroids looking things that are flying around? One of those hits my windshield and I'll have nice crack in it.

Btw., I'm being a good motorist and letting the trucks do what they need to do.

Worse yet, what if one of those suckers hit a guy on a Harley? Yuk. Wouldn't want to swallow that bug.

I have 7-9 hours ahead of me tomorrow, depending on the traffic. I'm trying to leave pretty early so that I can get into Nashville before the evening rush...lots of traffic that I don't want to deal with.

I grew up on a heavily travlled road, so I was paranoid about peepers. However, one night a friend and I were jumping around dancing on my room (attached to the front porch), and we looked over and a couple of boys were looking through the blinds. I was in my jammies! So, I'm really paranoid about that stuff now.

It is more fun when you have someone to hang out with. I'll be on my own this trip. I have family just outside of Nashville, but they are pretty busy folks.

I'll still have fun, though.

How come you get a view??? not fair... My normal view is the back of the building next door :-)

God knows my need for views and vistas. Chills me out. My view at home is the apartment building next to mine. It sucks.
