Ummm....Duh?

Apparently one of O.J. Simpson's former cohorts, Mike Gilbert, has written a book that states that Simpson made a confession in the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Gilbert said that Simpson specifically spoke of his ex-wife:

Simpson had smoked pot, took a sleeping pill and was drinking beer when he confided at his Brentwood home weeks after his trial what happened the night of June 12, 1994. Simpson said he went to his ex-wife's condominium, but did not bring a knife with him. Simpson told him Nicole Brown Simpson had one in her hand when she opened the door.

In a soft mumble, Simpson told him: "If she hadn't opened that door with a knife in her hand ... she'd still be alive."

"Nothing more needed to be said," Gilbert writes. "O.J. had confessed to me. There's no doubt in my mind."

So what about the gloves?

Mike Gilbert also claims he helped his former friend wiggle out of the murder charges by suggesting how to bloat his hands so they wouldn't fit the notorious bloody gloves.

That sounds a little far fetched, to me, but according to the article, Gilbert told Simpson to simply stop taking his arthritis medication. I seem to remember Simpson playing up his arthritic aches and pains during the trial. Hmmm...

While Simpson's lawyer has called Gilbert nothing more than a drug addict and a liar (and Simpson is above reproach?), Gilbert retorted by saying that Galanter [is] "an ambulance chaser and an enabler and denier for O.J. I know. I used to do the same thing. I understand the game."

Given O.J. Simpson's lifestyle and choice of friends in the past, I'd say that he probably has a lot of cronies who are questionable in character. However, that doesn't mean at some point one (or more) turn around and tell the truth.

Surprising that even the Associated Press never weems to have the brains of the average grade-school kid from Wisconsin! Any kid who is stupid enough to use nice leather gloves to throw snowballs KNOWS the result: they WILL SHRINK and get stiff - nearly impossible to put back on again!

Johnnie Cochran must have hypnotized the whole bunch.

That was precisely my argument during the trial. I just think people are that stupid. It is a sad statement about our society, and it has only become worse over time.

That trial was a very sad time for our judicial system.

It sincerely made me feel like it was the death of all common sense and reason. I don't think I was wrong.
