HEY, YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I'm sure nothing beats the original, PBS is bringing back The Electric Company! This was my all-time favorite show when I was a little kid. It taught me good stuff about reading and about the importance of words. It also gave me an appreciation for rhyme and style.

How can you not love Easy Reader (Morgan Freeman) and a cast that, along with Freeman, included Rita Moreno and Bill Cosby?

I hope the new version entices kids to read, to sound out words, and to learn valuable spelling rules. I hated (and still do) Sesame Street, and I always found Mr. Rogers a little too happy (although I do a good imitation of Henrietta Pussycat--poor sound alert). No one was that nice, friendly, and helpful in real life--it just creeped me out a bit.

I can't wait to see the new Electric Company! Yeah, I'm a word geek, so what of it?

Yes, I sing the chorus of this song when a lollipop appears. HA!

Those were the days.

Maybe they can recreate the magic.

Weren't they? I miss the innocence of childhood--sometimes.

1. True. The ZOOM update didn't make me happy.

2. I will have to buy that someday. Maybe I'll put it on my Christmas list.
