Dear diary (blah, blah, blah)

I'm feeling really snarky, today. I managed to be able to walk around my classrooms while I was teaching, and it sparked some confidence. That hasn't happened for a good, long while. The past couple of weeks, I've gained a lot of strength back in my legs and I'm starting to get muscle. I still can't go up a flight of stairs like a normal person, but I'm working on it.

The snark and generally improved health (no fatigue and little pain) have given me a little more of a 'tude in class, too. I have kids who are perpetually off-task and want to argue everything. When I was fatigued and experiencing pain 24/7, I'd just get the argument over with as quickly as possible. Today, there was one student for whom I had no more tolerance. After proving him wrong on something, I told him that his habit of arguing everything was really tiresome and that I was sick of it...slightly stern....very terse. Let's say, no one messed with me today. Except for the one kid, I was pleasant enough, but they knew I wasn't putting up with crap. It was quite a productive day.

I even got caught up on my grading. That is unheard of!

Hmmm....what else can I add to a diary of my day that no one wants to read? Oh, I noticed that I now only have two chins. I used to have three, approaching four.

My goal, by the end of the summer, is to no longer have a belly. It should be an easier task over the summer since I won't be as stressed and the cortisol will chill a bit. Going off of the protein shake has helped, too.

Not helping was my mom's recent trip to the store (which is why I prefer to do the shopping): Cheez-Its, Vienna sandwich cookies (didn't eat any), salsa and chips, apple turnovers, and ummm...I think that is it. Left to my own devices, I do pretty well; however, doing what she did is like putting crack in front of a crackhead.

Oh, and one more thing...no headache today. I think I figured out what is causing them: beets. I put shredded beets in my salad. I've been doing it for a few months and that's about how long the headaches have been around. They begin after lunch.

Let me know if I missed anything. Because, you know, this is a diary blog and all.

I'm going to go see if I can find something of real interest to write.

Until then, here's a tuba player after my own heart!

You will respect my Authority!!!!

Good to see the body is on the mend!

What; I was figuring on a Flyers update too?

That was a funny video and I think the kid learned a lesson.

Boys don't learn very well unless it hurts. I don't have to tell you that I guess.

It's been a long four years. This is the best I've felt in that time. In fact, I just thanked God for it, most sincerely.

I'm not even going to talk about boys. They confound me.

Get slim, trim and ready for action; then kick their asses up between their ears :-)

Most of these little %^&* have never had adequate supervision (e.g. their little butts beaten)
