In the Old Testament of the Bible, it was prophesied that there would be a virgin birth. His name, Immanuel, means "God with us" (Isaiah 7:14).
He came to Earth as both man and God.
He knows our weaknesses, temptations, triumphs, and defeats. He knew heartache, loss, pain, and joy.
As a young woman and her husband followed the laws of their land and the laws of God, they prepared to humbly welcome into the world, the One, that would usher in grace and true forgiveness, as seen in His teachings and actions.
I hope that, tonight, the eve of the celebration of Christ's birth, you have the opportunity to think about what is most important about Christmas: Christ's love, the reason for His birth--His resurrection, and our opportunity to reflect that love in our relationships with others.
Have a great evening. I'll probably be back much later, after I've visited with family.

Merry Christmas, RT.
Thank you, Jeffro. You have a Merry Christmas, too! :)
Great post.
What a song!
This is a beautiful version of my favorite Christmas song. I always prefer it sung by a male singer, I don't know why.
Admiral:
It is my absolute favorite Christmas song.
Mrs. G:
I agree. I prefer when a male sings it. I had one of a singer named David Phelps (awesome voice) singing it, but the video was crappy.
I'm not much into girl singers. I like Heart. I like smokey, raspy girl voices, but they are few and far between. Something in the tone (higher pitched voices) of a woman's voice bothers my ears. Not even a joke...don't know what it is.
